Abstract

The proposed project consists of widening and reconstruction of SR 32 from approximately 1,800 feet west of CR 296 eastward to the western city limit of Douglas in Coffee County, Georgia (Figure 1). The existing right-of-way (ROW) for this project measures approximately 45 feet either side of centerline of SR 32, and required ROW varies from approximately 65 to 90 feet either side of the centerline. Since the previous surveys in 1992, 1999, and 2008, and 2014 the project has been revised to include changes in measurements for the delineation of ecological resources within ecological environmentally sensitive areas (ESA). Five of these revisions were located outside of the previous archaeological survey areas. Also, there were six new locations that required survey due to changes in design that had not been previously surveyed (Table 1 and Figures 2 - 9). This report serves to document the archaeological survey of all eleven of these new locations.
