Abstract

The proposed project would reconfigure the Interstate (I)-16 Eastbound (EB) exit ramp at Chatham Parkway from a two-lane approach to a four-lane approach adding one additional left turn and one additional right turn lane. The project also proposes to widen the I-16 EB entrance ramp right at its connection to Chatham Parkway to accommodate turning movements and to replace the existing guardrail along the EB entrance ramp to meet current standards. Additionally, the project would reconfigure the existing signal, and add pedestrian crosswalks and wheelchair ramps. The existing right-of-way (ROW) on I-16 varies from 91.4 meters (m) (300 feet [ft]) wide to a maximum width of approximately 410 m (1,350 ft). All proposed project activities would occur within existing ROW.
