Defined by Wesley Hurt from his work in east-central Alabama as part of the Walter F. George Reservoir survey. Named after the town of Columbia, Alabama in Houston County.

Sorting Criteria

Medium incising in angular designs on sand / grit-tempered pottery, usually on the inside of flaring-rim bowls.

Geographical Range
Central Chattahoochee River valley and sporadically at other places in interior Georgia.
Chronological Range
Middle Mississippian.
