Abstract

The Earth Systems Division of SSI is pleased to submit this final archaeological survey report for the 200 acre (80 hectare) development tract and Savannah River access corridor in Chatham County, Georgia. The report which follows contains a detailed account of the survey, and conclusions and recommendations based on our findings. The study area is located approximately 10 miles (16 kilometers) north of the City of Savannah, and approximately 1 mile (1.6 kilometers) west of the Savannah River. One archaeological site was found during the survey, but it has been destroyed by prior ground disturbance. Since there are no sites present within the study area that are eligible for the National Register for Historic Places, cultural resources clearance is therefore recommended for the development tract and access corridor. The Earth Systems Division of Soil Systems, Inc. has enjoyed providing these professional consulting services for Daniel Engineering. Please contact us if we can be of any further assistance.
