Abstract

This report documents the results of the investigation of 688 meters (2,100 feet) of rerouted transmission line corridor and a new 6.3 acre substation site planned for construction by Oglethorpe Power Corporation in Douglas County, Georgia. This document serves as an addendum to a report of findings on this project as it was originally planned that was prepared by Applied Biology, Inc. No archaeological or historical resources were identified during the cultural resource survey of the rerouted transmission line segment and the new substation site. Further, the project as it is now planned appears place construction outside of the boundaries of the Sweetwater Creek State Park National Register District. The report recommends that no additional archaeological investigations be undertaken on this project prior to construction.
