Abstract

From July 1983 to September 1984, cultural resource surveys were conducted on a total of 2815 acres on the Oconee National Forest in Putnam County, Georgia. Field reconnaissance, which included limited subsurface testing, located a total of 26 prehistoric and 17 historic sites. Fourteen sites may contain intact cultural deposits and are recommended for protection from impact. The remaining sites are not eligible and are recommended to be cleared from culture resource impact.
