Abstract

The project corridor is 2.5 miles (4.0 km) long and 200 feet (61 m) wide, and follows the existing Frank Cochran Drive. The proposed project begins at the intersection of Frank Cochran Drive and State Route (S.R.) 196 (E. G. Miles Parkway) and extends approximately 4.0 km north along the existing Frank Cochran Drive. and ends within the boundaries of Fort Stewart at the intersection with S.R. 119 (Figures 1 and 2). The proposed undertaking will consist of widening Frank Cochran Drive from two 12 foot (3.7 m) travel lanes to four 12 foot (3.7 m) travel lanes with associated intersection improvements, curbs and gutters. The approximately north half of the project corridor [1.3 miles (2.1 km)] is within Fort Stewart, a U. S. Army base.
