Abstract

The proposed project consists of the replacement and expansion of an existing dry detention pond with a multi-pond storm water retention facility and public park adjacent to Georgia 400 at North Stratford Road and Longleaf Drive in the City of Atlanta. The existing facility lies immediately upstream from a double 2.4 m x 2.4 m culvert extending under Georgia 400 and would be reconstructed and expanded to the east side of North Stratford along Longleaf Drive. The wet retention system will provide storage for runoff, limit the outflow into the double culvert, and maintain steady pond elevations. This facility will accommodate the area runoff and provide a public amenity for the area. The proposed facility will be designed with "park-like" surroundings. As a result of historic and archaeological field surveys and background research, no properties considered eligible for inclusion or listed in the National Register were identified within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect. The archaeology survey has not been conducted.
