Abstract

On October 4, 1993 David Davis of this office conducted a Phase I archaeological survey on a proposed nature trail at Mistletoe State Park, Columbia County, Georgia. He was assisted by Park Manager Bill Tinley. This trail, which measures approximately 12 miles, is located in the southwestern portion of the park. In addition, Tinley asked that two other areas be surveyed. These areas included the beach area behind the office and check-in station and an area just west of the boat ramp and boat dock (see attached map). Work in the beach area includes leveling and cutting of trees. Construction west of. the boat ramp includes the construction of a handicap access boardwalk. The purpose of the survey was to identify any cultural resources which may be impacted by the construction of these projects.
