Abstract

A cultural resources survey of the proposed Shoal Creek Reservoir in Henry County, Georgia was conducted by Garrow & Associates, Inc. of Atlanta for the Clayton County Water Authority. A total of 11 sites and 10 isolated finds was recorded and investigated during this survey, including four prehistoric sites first discovered during a 1989 archaeological reconnaissance survey of this area. Two of the isolated finds were historic refuse dumps and the other eight were isolated occurrences of prehistoric lithics or pottery. All of the sites were prehistoric; two of the isolated finds were historic. Of the 11 sites identified, six are potentially eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
