Abstract

An intensive archaeological resources survey was carried out for the proposed Harp Road Substation and Access Road in Fayette County, Georgia. The project was carried out in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act by personnel qualified under 36 CFR Part 61. The tract surveyed is approximately 6 hectare (15 acre) which includes a 30 meter (100ft) wide and 366 meter (1200 ft) long access road corridor and a 4. 7 hectare (11.6 acre) substation area. The project tract is south of Fayetteville Georgia. The tract lies southwest of Sams Lake and north of Harp Road between 0 ld Senoia Road and the existing 0 'Hara-Senoia Primary 115 K v transmission line. This survey was conducted for Jordan, Jones & Goulding, Inc. No archaeological finds were identified during fieldwork. The proposed project will not affect significant archaeological resources. No additional archaeological resources investigations are recommended.
