Abstract

On 16 July 2002, Brockington and Associates, Inc., performed an intensive archaeological survey (Phase I) along the southwest of Riverview Road at the intersection with Northside Drive. The survey was conducted under contract with Kisinger Campo & Associates, in advance of proposed improvements to Riverview Road at Northside Drive. Survey tasks were completed in compliance with criteria defined under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (as amended). Background research determined that no recorded archaeological sites are known within the project tract or within a 1.6 km (one mile) radius. The phase I archaeological survey consisted of excavation of screened shovel tests at 30 meter (100 ft) intervals across the entire project area. Additionally, all exposed ground surfaces and slopes were visually inspected. No archaeological sites were identified during field survey. Cultural resources clearance is recommended.
