Abstract

As an exercise in the use of metal detecting as a survey method on eroded and disturbed EuroAmerican houses sites, 9GE140 and 9GE1513 were revisited by Joel Jones and Jerald Ledbetter in 2003. Both sites have been determined ineligible to the NRHP (Espenshade and Mitchell 1988). The sites are located on a ridge between Richland Creek and the Oconee River, known historically as the Forks Tract (Figure 1 ). The property was designated the A-1 tract by the Georgia Power Company.
