Abstract

Site 9GE168 is a multi-component site with evidence of Historic period structures dating to two separate occupations; one in the early to middle nineteenth century and a second in the early twentieth century. A small scatter of Middle Archaic period lithics is also found on the site. The site is located on a ridge projection overlooking the floodplain of Richland Creek which is now flooded by Lake Oconee (Figure 1). The tract has been known since the 1980s as the A-1 tract.
