Abstract

The proposed project would consist of replacing the existing culvert on State Road (SR) 22/U.S. 80 at Bailey Branch eight miles west of Roberta, Georgia (Figure 1). The existing culvert will be replaced with a reinforced concrete bridge measuring 160 feet long. and 40 feet wide. The new bridge will be constructed in the same location as the existing culvert and will tie in with the current road alignment. The project length spans approximately 0.39 miles. An onsite temporary detour bridge may be used to route traffic north of the culvert during construction. A temporary easement approximately 45 feet wide will be required on the north side of SR 22/U.S. 80 to accommodate the possible onsite detour bridge. All other work will take place within existing right-of-way (ROW).
