Abstract

On May 21, 1994 Dave Davis of this office conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of two areas slated for the construction of electrical service at Tugaloo State Park, Franklin County, Georgia. He was assisted by Assistant Manager Matt Griffin. The development locations, known as Cottage Areas, are in the northern and southeastern portion of the park (see attached map) .Construction involves providing electrical service between the cottages and the docks available to them. The distance of the trenches necessary for the service ranges between 100 feet and 300 feet. The purpose of the survey was to evaluate cultural resources which may be disturbed by the proposed development.
