Named after the Etowah site by Robert Wauchope.

Sorting Criteria

Plain sand-tempered pottery associated with the Etowah site. Vessel forms are elongated jars that narrow toward the rounded bases from moderately sloping shoulders. A small number of open bowls have also been noted. Rims are flared and lips are rounded.

Geographical Range
Northwestern Georgia.
Chronological Range
Middle Mississippian, Etowah period.
