Nunnally Plain


Defined by Frank Schnell, Jim Knight, and Gail Schnell based upon their work at the Cemochechobee site in Clay County. This pottery is defined by its fine paste and distinctive color.

Sorting Criteria

Plain pottery with distinctive grey-black paste with very fine sand temper.

Geographical Range
Lower Chattahoochee River valley.
Chronological Range
Middle Mississippian.
