This report summarizes the results of an archaeological survey at two RC&D project locations in Bryan and Liberty Counties, (Figure 1).

This report describes the work conducted for the Lake Sidney Lanier Cultural Resources Survey and Inventory, a project sponsored by the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District. The project limits include portions of Hall, Forsyth, Gwinnett, Dawson, and Lumpkin Counties, Georgia.

Extensive excavations of the Mississippi period Beaverdam Creek mound and its surrounding "village" midden are summarized. The mound was constructed around A.D. 1200-1250 and is associated with the Beaverdam phase of the Savannah culture.

An archaeological survey was conducted at a proposed 14 to 18 hectare (35 to 45 acre) landfill site in White County, Georgia. Two man days were required to complete the field investigations, which entailed surface inspection of an unpaved road and subsurface inspection of forested areas.

On August 1, 1979 an archaeological survey was conducted at the mouth of a proposed storm drainage ditch north of Radium Springs in Dougherty County, Georgia (Figures 1 and 2).
