This report documents the results of archaeological data recovery at the Charlotte Woods Soapstone Quarry (9Da248) located within the confines of the Live Oak Landfill property in Dekalb County, Georgia. This project was sponsored by Waste Management of Georgia, Inc.

The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the ways in which archaeology has been and can be applied to the study of historic cemeteries.

Survey Sites 1, 2, 4, and 5 in the proposed Ronald Reagan Expressway Corridor were tested. Archaeological testing procedures varied in accordance with two general site types: historic sites with standing structures (Sites 1 and 2); and subsurface prehistoric sites (Sites 4 and 5).

This report details the Phase II archaeological testing conducted at the Landers-Pounds site (9GW258) between December 27 and 31, 1993. The Landers-Pounds House site is a historic archaeological site with a minor prehistoric component and is located in suburban Gwinnett County, Georgia.

A pedestrian resurvey was conducted on approximately 1.7 miles of the proposed Woodstock-Alpharetta Transmission Line Corridor by Patrick H. Garrow, of Garrow & Associates, Inc. on August 17, 1984. That resurvey was conducted at the request of Oglethorpe Power Corporation, and Mr.

Site 9CO297 is a historic house site situated on an upland knoll in southern Cobb County, Georgia. It contains two house locations that served as living quarters for families who worked in the nearby Concord Woolen Mill.

The proposed project involves. the widening of 1-20 from S. R. 6 in Douglas County to Hightower Road in Fulton County. Lanes would be increased from four to six. Widening would be within the median with no additional right of way purchased.

A two-member SSI archaeology team began the survey of the Clayton County temporary workspace on July 22, 1976. Precise workspace boundaries were field located by a representative of the Colonial Pipeline Company, and the precise survey area was delineated.

A 1900 foot (579 meter) segment of proposed force main corridor and a 4.5 acre (1.8 hectare) wastewater treatment plant expansion area were surveyed during this project.
