Law Environmental, Inc., Kennesaw, Georgia conducted data recovery excavations on Site 9GW144, a late nineteenth-twentieth century farmstead located outside the city limits of Snellville, Georgia in Gwinnett County. Data recovery was primarily conducted between July and September 1991.

On March 2, 1992, a wooden coffin containing poorly preserved human skeletal remains was found eroding out of the north shore of Hutchinson Island, opposite the City of Savannah. The remains were excavated by archeologists with the U.S.
