In March 2015, the LAMAR Institute was retained by the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area to conduct Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey on portions of the historic Sibley Mill property in Augusta, Richmond County, Georgia.

Camden County is Georgia’s southeastern most county, separated from Florida on the south only by the St. Marys River. Today the county is bordered on the east by the Atlantic Ocean, on the north by Glynn County, and on the west by Charlton County.

                A Phase I cultural resource survey of the proposed Indian Boundary Mine in northern Charlton County, Georgia for Southern Ionics Minerals, LLC was conducted by Golder Associates Inc. in January 2017. Laboratory analysis and reporting were completed in November 2017.

Southern Research conducted archaeological survey and testing of 40 acres surrounding the tabby ruins of the Horton House in March and April2002. This investigation was conducted as part of a Structural and Site Preservation Plan for the Horton House.

In the summer of 2005 Coastal Heritage Society plans were well underway to develop a derelict property into Battlefield Park in downtown Savannah, Georgia (Figure I). This would be the culmination of a movement to memorialize the fallen of the 1779 Battle of Savannah.

In 1996 Southern Research entered into a contract with the U.S. Army’s Fort Benning Military Reservation to provide cultural resource management services for the installation.
