Background

This type was never used by anyone after its first mention by Arthur Kelly in 1938, although Carol Mason says that a clay wash filming was present on 11 percent of the Walnut Roughened sherds. We are uncertain what this treatment refers to in terms of ceramic technology. Do not use this term.
