Southern Research, Historic Preservation Consultants, Inc. has completed a Phase I cultural resources survey of eight blocks, totaling 609 acres, within Compartments 149, 150, and 152 of the Oconee Ranger District, Chattahoochee Oconee National Forest (Figure 1).

Data recovery was conducted on Squawking Hawk Ridge (9BL290) and Turkey Ridge (9BL299), located to the southwest of Milledgeville in central Baldwin County, Georgia. The sites were previously tested and determined eligible for the National Register of Historic Places.

Phase II archaeological site testing was conducted on 9HS30 and 9HS31, located along the eastern banks of the Chattahoochee River in Harris County, Georgia.
