In the woods to the south of Fort McAllister lies a mound identical to those within the fort walls. (Plate 1). It is connected to the fort by a long, sand wall which currently provides access to the mound.

This paper reports on exploratory testing carried out for the firms of Parsons Brinckerhoff and Lominack, Jewett and Spencer at the Red Building, a National Register structure located along West Broad Street, in Savannah, Georgia.

In July and August 1984, Archaeological Research Associates, Inc., under contract with the United States Corps of Engineers, Mobile District conducted an archaeological investigation of the Still-DeLoach Wreck, Savannah Harbor, Georgia.

Archaeological investigations of seven mill sites in Elbert County, Georgia and Abbeville County, South Carolina were undertaken as part of cultural resources investigations associated with the construction of Richard B. Russell Dam and Lake on the Savannah River.

During the years of 1982 and 1983 a program was undertaken by the City Council of Augusta to monitor the construction of several sewer separation projects.

This paper reports on cultural resources data collection in the Central of Georgia train shed, Battlefield Park, Savannah, Georgia. The National Register structure was undergoing modification for conversion to an orientation center and museum.

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. contracted with Oglethorpe Power Corporation to conduct a cultural resources survey of the route of a proposed 13.3 km (8.25 mile) electrical transmission line and substation in Twiggs County, Georgia.

A cultural resources survey at the site of the proposed Lumpkin substation and transmission line was conducted during the period of 29 May to 2 June, 1984, for Oglethorpe Power Corporation, Inc.

An archeological survey of the proposed Altamaha River Park, Appling County, Georgia, was conducted in February 1984. The project area included 26 acres immediately adjacent to bluffs overlooking the Altamaha River.

A cultural resources survey was conducted on 77 ha (190 acres) of the Phase II property acquired by Newton County, Georgia for the development of a wilderness park. Twenty archeological sites were discovered, two of which are nineteenth century mill ruins.
