A total of 27 archaeological and historic sites have been located and recorded on Colonel's Island (See Figure 4 and Table 1). Nineteen of these contained prehistoric aboriginal components; five were occupied both aboriginally and historically; and three contain only historic components.

A cultural resources survey was conducted on two parcels of land (Figure 1) in the Oconee National Forest in preparation for a land exchange with the Greensboro Lumber Company, Greensboro, Georgia. The parcels in question are located as follows.

The cultural resource survey was conducted along a proposed extension of Long Creek Road (FS251), near Hickory Flats Cemetery, in Eastern Fannin County, Georgia. This road is in Compartment 656 of the Toccoa Ranger District, Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests.

A cultural resources survey was conducted on Tract U-20l, Compartment 132, of the Oconee National Forest in October, 1978, by John Barrett with assistance of two YACC enrollees also of the Oconee National Forest.

This report describes a cultural resources survey conducted on a 65 acre land exchange proposed with the Georgia Power Company in Rabun County, Georgia.

A cultural resources survey was conducted along 4.7 miles of the existing right-of-way of Darnell Creek Road in Rabun County, where reconstruction activities are proposed in Compartments 14, 15, and 38 of the Tallulah Ranger District.

This report describes a cultural resources survey conducted along the present and proposed right-of-way of the Stamp Creek Road (FS 25), in southwestern Rabun County, Georgia.

On August 17, 1977 a survey of the Dudley 201 wastewater treatment facility was completed in order to assess the impact of the proposed project upon cultural resources, as required by federal mandates implemented by 36 C.F.R.

The present report summarizes a cultural resource survey of a proposed 0.4 acre heliport located near Skeenah Gap. The project area, drained by one of the upper branches of Young Cane Creek, has a northeast exposure and is characterized by a fairly fertile, somewhat light loam (USFS, 1917).
