Under a Volunteer Agreement with the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests, the University of Georgia undertook six weeks of excavation followed by two weeks of analysis during the summer, 1983, at Scull Shoals Mound site in Greene County, Georgia.

This brief report outlines archaeological excavations at the location of a steam powered cotton mill in Madison, Georgia that took place in 1994 and 1995. This mill was also the location of a Prisoner of War camp run by the Confederate States of America in 1862.
