The Georgia Department of Transportation and Greene County are proposing to widen, and partially realign Linger Longer Road and Reubens Ridge Road, both of which will provide access to a new Ritz-Carlton Lodge on Lake Oconee. A 500 ft (152 m) wide corridor, 6.7 km (4.2 mi) long, was surveyed.

Archaeological sites 9BK65, 9BK66 and 9BK67 were recorded by Georgia Society of Archaeology member Gary Doster in 1987. Mr. Doster and the owner of the property, Dr. Forest Kellogg made small collections from the sites and donated those collections to the University of Georgia.

Data Recovery was conducted on a 0.84 ha portion of the Tarver site, 9JO6, located on the Fall Line near Macon, Georgia. The Tarver site occupies most of a broad ridge crest that overlooks the confluence of Town Creek and the Ocmulgee River.
