In July of 2005, Southern Research conducted a cultural resources survey within an approximately 550 acre tract of land in Washington County, Georgia (Figure 1). The tract is the location of proposed tailings impoundment for the Huber Corporation's kaolin mines.

An archaeological survey of a proposed road right-of-way was conducted in a portion of the Oconee National Forest. The known site was delineated and tested. The site dates primarily to the Lamar period with minor components dating to the Middle Archaic and Early Woodland periods.

This project is a phase I archaeological survey within the APE corridor of a proposed multi-use trail at Columbus State University. The trail will incorporate some existing sidewalks and bridges. It is intended to connect with a defunct rail line in the Rails To Trails Project.
