Heritage resources surveys and inventories have been completed for 1,039 acres on the Toccoa and Cohutta Ranger Districts, Fannin, Union, Gilmer, and Murray Counties, Georgia. These field surveys were completed during the summer of 1996 by Rebecca E.

A cultural resource inventory and field survey was completed for the proposed land exchange of four tracts in Gilmer and Murray Counties. Three adjacent tracts make up the Gallman exchange parcel for 480 acres in Gilmer County.

This report covers cultural/heritage resource surveys on approximately 609 acres on planned timber sales on the Oconee National Forest in Greene and Jones Counties, Georgia. These projects by compartments are listed in Table 2.

A cultural resource survey has been completed on five parcels of National Forest land in a proposed land exchange in Habersham and Stephens Counties, Georgia.

A cultural resource survey was completed for the 85 acre Citron Land Exchange in Union County, Georgia. This area is characterized by steep mountainous terrain along a small creek. It was surveyed in February 2002, and one site was found along the creek.

The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests recently completed a cultural resource survey for the proposed 36 acre Weaver Creek Southern Pine Beetle prevention project on the Toccoa Ranger District along the Fannin and Gilmer County line.

A cultural resources inventory has been completed for the Davenport Stewardship project on Nottely Lake in Union County, Georgia. Thirteen sites were recorded during a survey of 739 acres.

A cultural resource inventory was completed for 138 acres of timber thinning, and approximately 5 miles of plow lines for prescribed burning. Portions of compartments 740, 766, 770, 771, 772, 775, 777, and 779 in Fannin, Murray and Gilmer Counties, Georgia were surveyed.

The Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests recently completed a survey of 229 acres for the proposed Georgia Mountain Orchard woodland restoration project and prescribed burn on the Chattooga River Ranger District in Habersham and Stephens Counties, Georgia.

The Conasauga Ranger District (Conasauga RD) of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests is proposing to harvest timber in Chattooga County, Georgia using a commercial timber contract.
