It was on a hot July morning in 1736 when the German Baron Frederick Von Reck arrived on foot with his party at the Yuchi Indian village. Although several Indians rushed to greet him in hopes of receiving gifts, many others were busy preparing for the Busk, or Green Corn ceremony.

On July 14 and 15, 1989, archaeology was conducted within the Bethany settlement in present-day Effingham County, Georgia. This report presents the findings of that study. These efforts were predicated on an unpublished study in historical geography conducted by Raymond Davis, and others.

This report details preliminary exploration by archaeologists with the LAMAR Institute at Hudson's Ferry, Georgia. These investigations were conducted in March 2003 by a volunteer crew that consisted of the landowners (the Donny Bostwick family), Judy Wood, Rita Elliott, and Daniel Elliott.

The project objective of the Sunbury Battlefield American Battlefield Protection Program (ABPP) research project was to identify the historical resources at Sunbury, Georgia associated with the Revolutionary War battles that took place in 1778, 1779, and 1782.

Beaulieu was the name of a large plantation at the mouth of the Vernon River in present-day Chatham County, Georgia (Figures 1 and 2). Preliminary archaeological investigation on a portion of the Beaulieu Plantation site (9CH 1228) was provided by the LAMAR Institute, Savannah, Georgia.

The Glen Mary plantation house is an important historical resource in Hancock County, Georgia (Figure 1). The manor is a Greek Revival high-style dwelling that is presently identified as a National Treasure by the Save America's Treasures unit of the National Park Service.

This report is a revised version of a draft report on the Phase I archaeological survey investigations conducted to identify all cultural resources within the proposed 20-acre Skidaway Island Yachting Venue facility at Priests Landing, Chatham County, Georgia (Elliott and Holland 1994).

Intensive archaeological survey was conducted by Southern Research in 1996 and 1997 on land management Compartment K-11, which is located in Chattahoochee County, Georgia. This work was done for the U.S.

Garrow & Associates, Inc. conducted a cultural resources survey within two sections of the Oglethorpe Avenue median in Savannah, Georgia for the City of Savannah during June 1994. The project is within the Savannah National Historic Landmark District (NHLD) (Figure 1).
