GDOT Archaeological Report Short Form for Negative Findings; Phase I Archaeological Survey of Intersection Improvements at Callaway Road/Cheatham Hill Report Title Road and Powder Springs Road Cobb County, Georgia; Prime Consultant: Moreland Altobeli Associates, Inc.

The project consists of a Phase I archaeological Survey of a proposed pedestrian bridge over Interstate 285 at Church Street in DeKalb County.

On June 6, 2007, New South Associates conducted an archaeological survey of the proposed trail connector at the intersection of 1-85 and Georgia Highway 20. The project is intended to connect an existing sidewalk located along Georgia Highway 20 with a newly constructed trail along Ivy Creek.

The project is a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the impact area for proposed streetscape improvements in East Atlanta. Planned improvements are within existing right-of-way along four road corridors.

New South Associates conducted a cultural resources survey of 190 acres in southwest Talbot County along its border with Harris and Muscogee Counties from August 7th to August 16, 2000. This tract of land is owned by Mead Paper Company and is part of a large commercial pine plantation.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of a 90 acre act of land in Harris and Muscogee Counties from August 18' to 23rd, 2000. The project area is located immediately east of Interstate 185 and straddles the Harris-Muscogee County line.

On October 9' of 2006 New South Associates (NSA) conducted a Phase I Archaeological Survey of an approximately five-acre tract in Cobb and Douglas Counties, Georgia. The goal of the survey was to determine whether the property contained evidence of past human occupation.

New South Associates archaeologically surveyed 1,685 acres of wetlands, floodplain, and slope divided among three tracts within the Plum Creek Wetland Mitigation Site from November 2005 through February 2006 for the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT).

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of six proposed intersection improvements in Coweta County on December 18, 2002.

This report presents the findings of the Phase I Archaeological Survey of the East Segment of the expansion of SR 96 in Twiggs County, Georgia. The area surveyed consisted of a corridor of new rightof--way oriented along the existing path of SR 96.
