The following report, is a record of the preliminary surface reconnaissance for the Noonday-Rubes-Southern Lake Allatoona 201 Facilities Plan (Mayes, sudderth & Etheridge, Inc., Contract No. 9784).

Under the above contractual agreement, between the USDA, Forest Service an_ the Archeological Survey of Cobb-Fulton Counties, the General Specifications contained the following.

The cultural resource assessment of the project property was designed in accordance with existing federal and state regulations and guidelines relative to the expenditure of federal funds, pursuant to the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended, 36C FR800, and the Georgia Archaeol

The area of the plant expansion and the area proposed for channelization along Flat Creek were traversed on foot and subsoil tests were made at frequent intervals in both areas. Areas of primary and possible secondary impact were included in the investigation.

Structure Site No. 8 is composed of seventy-four acres along Cooper Creek and a small un-named tributary branch in the southern portion of Hall County, Georgia.

Phase One, Dalton, Georgia, 201 Wastewater r Facilities Study consists of 5.8 miles of projected sewer line and 95.5 acres of treatment facilities, much of e latter already constructed under previous programs.

The expansion of facilities of the McCollum Airport is considered to be a significant part of the general growth of Cobb County and the northern metropolitan Atlanta region.

The firm of Williams Brothers Concrete Company, Inc., has proposed to construct a sand extraction plant on the Chattahoochee River, just north of the mouth of Dick's Creek, in southeastern Forsyth County. The site property is owned by Dr. John N.

During the week of September 1st, the Archeological Survey of Cobb-Fulton Counties received a visit from Mr. Christopher Hamilton, student at Florida State University, Tallahassee.
