Brockington, Paul E.

Cultural property GP-SN-03 (designated (T) 9 Sn C.P. # 11 in Garrow 1984) is located in Screven County, Georgia within the Vidalia Uplands of the Coastal Plain Physiographic Province.

Data Recovery was conducted on a portion of a large archaeological site, designated Cultural Property GP-SN-08, Designated Work Area #2, located along Brier Creek in Screven County, Georgia during 1985. This work was performed by Garrow & Associates, Inc.

Data recovery excavations at GP-HK-08 were designed to gather data suitable for reaching a more complete understanding of the Lamar period occupation at this upland property.

This report is an addendum to work previously conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc., on the proposed Eisenhower Parkway Extension.

In 2006, the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT), Office of Environment/ Location, through the firm of Greenhorne and O'Mara (G&O), contracted with Brockington and Associates, Inc., (Brockington) to conduct Phase III data recovery investigations at 9HY321 in Henry County, Georgia.

The Cultural Resource Inventory I and II of the proposed Georgia Power Vogtle - South Carolina Electric Transmission Line, Burke County, Georgia, resulted in the identification of four cultural properties and a single isolate.

In the summer of 1966, from mid-July to mid-September, preliminary excavations were made at the Site, in Burke County, Georgia, by Dr. William E. Edwards, then South Carolina State Archeologist, with a small crew of students from the University of South Carolina.
