Historical research on this property was conducted at the Georgia Department of Archives and History. Local, county, and state maps revealed that there had been no human settlement on the property since at least 1820. Local and county histories were also consulted.

No evidence of prehistoric or historic archaeological remains was discovered during the survey or in the search of early maps. The collapsed remains of a flat-roofed shed were found in the southwest section of the tract near Bolling Road.

As concerns the location of 74 from 1-85 south to Tyrone, Ga., it is recommended that Line "A" or Line "B" be used, as Line "C" contained the most sites of historic and prehistoric significance. If Line "C" is chosen, the sites 1 and 5 should be investigated by archaeological personnel.
