On or about the first of February, 1974, a request for an archaeological survey of a 289 acre tract in Hall County Georgia, near Flowery Branch, was received by the author from Dr. Lewis H. Larson, Jr., State Archaeologist.

Southeastern Wildlife Services, Inc , Athens, Georgia, was selected to conduct a cultural resources survey on two parcels of land situated the boundaries of Ft. Benning Military Reservation, Muscogee County, Georgia.

A nineteenth century cemetery was accidentally discovered during construction activities at Fort Benning, Georgia. Preliminary historical and archeological investigations suggest that the individuals buried there may have been members of the Missionary Colored Baptist Church.

Southern Research, Historic Preservation Consultants, Inc., conducted an intensive archaeological survey and testing of the proposed location for the Floydtown 115/25 kV substation in Miller County, Georgia. The proposed substation site encompasses approximately 5.2 acres.
