In January 1984, the author conducted cultural resource surveys on the Johns Creek and Dry Creek Roads in the Armuchee Ranger District of the Chattahoochee National Forest. The survey also covered 100 acres in a timber sale adjacent to the Johns Creek Road.

Research on the Springfield Canal project, Chatham County, Georgia, consisted of a historic documents search and an archeological survey. The project area is on the western fringes of the city of Savannah in lowlands once drained by Musgrove Creek and its tributaries.

On January 30-31, 1984, the author conducted a cultural resource survey on 723 acres on the east slope of Taylor Ridge in Chattooga County, Georgia. The survey area included proposed timber sales and an extension of Forest Service Road 259, known as the Taylor Ridge Road.

Cultural resources surveys by the author on six timber sale areas on National Forest land in Rabun County covered 1,239 acres of steeply dissected terrain. Surveys were in NW, SW, and SE parts of the county, in forest compartments 55, 60, 74, 75, 105, 110, and 114.

This cultural resources survey covers 259 acres in two parcels around the Amicalola Falls State Park in northwestern Dawson County, Georgia. The survey was conducted prior to a proposed land exchange involving two land lots on the east and west sides of the park.
