Archaeological investigations including archival research, visual inspection, metal detector survey, and limited test excavations were conducted on a 100-meter long corridor at the location of the Yahoola High Trestle, a component of 9LU52 (Hand Ditch) located in Lumpkin County, Georgia.

Environmental Corporation of America (ECA) has completed an Archaeological Assessment for the federal undertaking at the subject site. The proposed undertaking would include a proposed 125-foot by 125-foot (38-meter by 38-meter) lease area.

The Jekyll Island Authority (JIA) has applied for an Army Corp of Engineer's permit for the improvement of the rock revetment along the Atlantic Ocean beach. This project is intended to protect the beach front from erosion.

In early May of 2000 and March of 2005, Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., surveyed the proposed Villa Rica bypass. Six sites, consisting of the remnants of four nineteenth to twentieth century houses and two gold mines were recorded during the survey.
