The Moravian mission at Spring Place was established soon after the beginning of the 19th Century. The Cherokees served by the mission were interested in obtaining instruction in language and other skills that would help them in dealing with the recently established American culture.

On July 16th through 20th, 2007, Brockington and Associates, Inc., conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of the proposed Range Fuels Plant near Soperton, Treutlen County, Georgia.

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., conducted an intensive archeological survey of proposed developments associated with the North Fulton Water Treatment Plant, in Fulton County, Georgia.

This is an Archaeological Survey of Project CSSTP-0007-00(515) in Effingham County. The proposed project would improve the intersection of SR 21 and McCall Road. The proposed project would add an exclusive right turn lane with 250 foot of storage and a 100 foot taper on McCall Road.

During April, July, and November 2005, Edwards-Pitman Environmental, Inc. (EPEI) conducted Phase I and II archaeological investigations at the proposed Ball Street extension location, Perry, Houston County, Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) proposes to improve existing conditions around Rincon, Georgia in Effingham County, by constructing a roadway around the east side of the city from Highway 21 south of Rincon, back to Highway 21 north of Rincon (Figure 1).

On January 10, 2006 the Georgia Department of Transportation conducted a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey at the request of the Georgia Division of Natural Resources. Data were collected in two grids at the Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation Historic Site (Figure 1).
