Report Abstracts

This report summarizes a cultural resource survey of an approximately ½ acre tract of land located on a knoll several hundred meters southeast of the Brasstown Work Center.

A Cultural Resource Survey was conducted along the proposed John's Creek Road (FS 294) in the John's Creek valley in northeastern-most Floyd County near Lake Marvin and the Pocket area. This road is in Compartment 926 of the Armuchee Ranger District, Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forests.

A Cultural Resource Survey was conducted along a right-of-way measuring some 4.75 miles composed of 2.5 miles of existing but deteriorating road and 2.25 miles of new road proposed right-of-way. This is along John's Mountain running northward from Dunaway Gap.

An archaeological survey of a site of proposed development at Hofwyl-Broadfield Plantation State Historic Site, Glynn County, Georgia, was conducted in May 1979. No archaeological resources (sites) were found in the area surveyed.

The proposed project is an addendum to the Phase I archaeological survey of the proposed Truman Linear Park Trail in Chatham County, Georgia (GDOT Project No. CSHPP0007-00(631), P.I. No. 0007631) (Sweeney 2012).

The proposed Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Project CSHPP-0007-00(606), PI No. 0007606 proposes to construct landscaping, lighting, and pedestrian amenities along the Fall Line Freeway/State Route (SR) 96 within the city limits of Reynolds, Georgia.

On September 19,1977, the author conducted an archaeological survey of two existing sewage oxidation pond facilities in Hazlehurst, Georgia. Modification of the two existing ponds is being planned for the City of Hazlehurst by Armour and Cape, Inc., Consulting Engineers, of Atlanta, Georgia.
