Over the past three decades, researchers have conducted numerous Phase I archaeological surveys on Fort Benning, which encompasses portions of Muscogee and Chattahoochee Counties, Georgia, and Russell County, Alabama, as part of Section 106 compliance projects.

This research design has been prepared by Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (PCI) for a Phase II evaluation of 48 archaeological sites within the boundaries of Fort Benning Military Reservation (Contract No. W911SF- 06-D-0013).
