Report Abstracts

This report describes Phase III Data Recovery investigations at Site 9GE552, a Late Mississippian Lamar period (c. AD 1350-1650) farmstead. Reynolds Lake Oconee, formerly known as Reynolds Plantation, is a residential development in Greene and Putnam Counties, Georgia, situated on Lake Oconee.

This is a bridge project, BRZLB-133(7), located in Greene County. The bridge is on County Road 66/Leslie Mill Road and crosses Beaverdam Creek. The existing structure is a 55 foot long by 11.8 foot wide concrete and steel structure.

This is a bridge project, BRZLB-055(8), located in Chattooga County. The bridge is on County Road 6 and crosses Storey Mill Creek. The existing structure is a 36 foot long by 17.8 foot wide bridge and the existing ROW is 30 feet.

Archeological Assessment of a Lincoln County Resurfacing Project. This proposed project consists of milling, resurfacing and constructing 2' paved shoulders on SR 79 beginning at its intersection with SR 43 and ending at the Elbert County Line.

An archaeological survey has been scheduled for the following bridge replacement projects in District III: I-85-1(161) located in Troup-Harris Counties. Project I-85-1 (161) Troup-Harris consists of widening from 28' to 42' the following bridges on I-85:

This is a bridge project, BRZLB-241(6), located in Rabun County. The bridge is on County Road 163 and crosses Stekoa Creek. The existing structure is a 18.1 foot wide by 29 foot long concrete bridge with six steel beams and rubble masonry end bents. The existing ROW is 50 feet total.

Archaeological Examination of District Bridge Projects. In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, the following bridge projects were surveyed for archaeological sites: BROLB-0105(1), Elbert County.

This is a bridge project, BRSLB-2813(3), located in Coweta County. The bridge is on County Road 103/ Big Poplar Road and crosses White Oak Creek. The proposed project is a replacement of the existing bridge.

This is a bridge project, BRF-154-1(4), located in Crawford County. The bridge is on SR 128 and crosses Matthews Creek. The existing bridge is 140 foot long and 23.8 feet wide with timber piles, steel beams, and a concrete deck. The established ROW is 100 feet.

This is a bridge project, BRZLB-071(16), located in Colquitt County. The bridge is on County Road 297/ Sam Sells Road and crosses Brushy Branch stream. The existing structure is a 40 foot long by 20 foot wide timber bridge. The existing ROW is 80 feet.
