On October 5, 2004 the Georgia Department of Transportation conducted a Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey at the request of the Georgia Division of Natural Resources. Two GPR survey grids were placed in the vicinity of the lighthouse on the south end of Sapelo Island (Figure 1 ).
