Report Abstracts

This proposed project consists of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the existing State Route (SR) 3/US Highway (US) 19/US 41/Tara Boulevard (referred to as Tara Boulevar in the remainder of this report), west/southwest of downtown Jonesboro in Clayton County, Georgia.

The proposed project is located in the southwest portion of Long County approximately 4 miles south of the town of Ludowici. The proposed project is to conduct a block survey of the Townsend Tract which is 1,706 acres of Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) surplus property.

The proposed project consists of the transfer of surplus property in Forsyth County owned by The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). The surplus property will be placed on the market by GDOT’s Right-of-Way Office.

A member of the staff in the Office of the State Archaeologist has made an on-site inspection of the above-mentioned project and nothing of archaeological significance was noted.

The City of Athens, Georgia wishes to develop its North Oconee River riverfront as a greenway corridor, work will eventually include wooded areas, a bicycle path, interpretive displays, entrances and parking lots and other related infrastructure.

Environmental Corporation of America’s (ECA) client, SprintCom, Inc. is proposing to construct a 90-foot tall (overall height) temporary cell on wheels (COW) telecommunications structure.

In 2018, Mr. Hal Roach Jr. contacted the Georgia Southern University Department of Sociology and Anthropology Archaeology program to conduct a survey of a historical cemetery located in Bulloch County, Georgia. Mr.

Brown Bottoms is located along the border of Habersham and Stephens Counties on the Chattooga River Ranger District of the Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest (Figure 1-1).

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project STP-M000-00(071) in Dooly, Houston, Lamar, Macon, Monroe, and Twiggs counties, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion
