Report Abstracts

An archaeological survey was conducted by Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. in Floyd County, Georgia, along the proposed South Rome By-Pass running east from US 27/SR 1 and along Booze Mountain Road to SR 101 (Figure 1). The corridor is 6.3 km (3.9 mi) long and 73 m (240 ft) in width.

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) of Athens, Georgia contracted with Fort Benning, Georgia Environmental Management Division (EMD) to conduct a cultural resources survey of approximately 997 ha (2463 ac) on Fort Benning.

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., conducted an intensive cultural resources survey of the proposed Bear Creek Water Supply Reservoir in southern Jackson County, Georgia.

An archeological survey was conducted for the Georgia Department of Transportation south of Milledgeville, Georgia, on a 460 acre tract bisected by the Oconee River.

Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc., conducted an intensive archeological survey of proposed improvements to State Road 17 between the cities of Thomson and Elberton, in Elbert, McDuffie, and Wilkes Counties, Georgia.

From September 6 to 16, 1993, Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (PCI), of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, under subcontract to Gulf Engineers and Consultants, Inc., Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was engaged in archaeological investigations at Savannah, Georgia.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of three roads in Camden County between June 25 and June 28, 1996. The survey corridors include 1.6 miles of Old Jefferson Road, 0.6 miles of Woodard Road (A), and 0.6 hires of 3-R Fish Camp Road totaling 2.8 miles.

A cultural inventory was conducted for the Satilla River Basin in Southeast Georgia to aid the Corps of Engineers in their development and management of the basin's water and related land resources.

This report is a compilation of various cultural resources surveys and sites that have been recorded in 1992. These surveys have been conducted for timber sales, a road widening, wildlife openings, and a volunteer project on the Chattooga Ranger District, Chattahoochee National Forest.
