Report Abstracts

Archival and field investigations were conducted by Brockington and Associates in June, 1995 to identify, locate, and map all historic period cemeteries in the Mobile District, Army Corps of Engineers lands at Allatoona Lake, Georgia. The research investigations consisted of several phases.

An archaeological survey was conducted of the area adjacent to two existing oxidation ponds in Gray, Georgia. No Archaeological sites of National Register significance were identified at these two localities.

This report documents the Phase I archaeological survey investigations conducted to locate and record any cultural resources within the proposed approximately 350 acre North Lowndes Regional Wastewater Treatment Facilities project area, Lowndes County, Georgia.

Data recovery efforts were conducted from November 15 to December 9, 1994, on site 9C0352, located in Cobb County, Georgia, by Garrow & Associates, Inc., on behalf of the Cobb County Department of Transportation.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I Archaeological Survey of the proposed improvements to Houston Road, Bibb County, Georgia. The survey of the approximately 3.20 mile corridor was conducted on January 4 and 5, 1996.

Cultural resources survey of Oglethorpe Power Corporation's proposed 2.1 acre (0.85 hectares) Brays 46/25KV substation, in Washington County, Georgia, was conducted by Brockington and Associates, Inc.

Archeological data recovery excavation and analysis for the proposed Riverfront Augusta Convention Center and Office Park development was conducted by New South Associates between the months of September, 1989 and October, 1991.

In compliance with Section 106 requirements for archaeological testing and timely feedback during the planing and development process, the LeConte-Woodmanston Foundation initiated testing of the portion of the property where a proposed pond was scheduled to be built.

New South Associates conducted a Phase I Archeological Survey of the Rome SE Bypass on June 11 and 15, 1992. The proposed corridor is new alignment, and extends from S. R. 101 to U. S. 411. The corridor is 3.5 miles in length with a minimum 250 foot wide right-of-way.

This report documents the results of the cultural resources survey of the proposed Sewer Line Corridor for Mountain City, Rabun County, Georgia. This cultural resources survey project was subcontracted to Garrow & Associates, Inc., Atlanta by G. Ben Turnipseed Engineers, Atlanta.
