In December, 1995, and January, 1996, Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (PCI), archaeologically surveyed approximately 276 hectares (ha) (682 acres [ac]) in the Cantonment area of Fort Gordon, Georgia.

Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (PCI), conducted an intensive Phase I archaeological survey of the 1,291-acre Compartment B-4 land tract on the Fort Benning Military Reservation, in Chattahoochee County, Georgia.

In November 1996, Brockington and Associates, Inc. conducted a cultural resources survey of the proposed Parker Road/ Flat Shoals Road intersection improvement corridor in Rockdale County, Georgia.

From October 1995 through July 1996, cultural resources surveys were conducted on some 1,919 acres of the Oconee National Forest in Greene, Jasper, Jones, and Putnam Counties, Georgia, which lie east of Georgia highway 11.

A cultural resource inventory and field survey was completed for the proposed land exchange of four tracts in Gilmer and Murray Counties. Three adjacent tracts make up the Gallman exchange parcel for 480 acres in Gilmer County.

This report presents a preservation plan for the management of Fort Gordon's present and future cultural resources needs.

Archaeologists with the LAMAR Institute conducted excavations at Fort Argyle (9BN28) and survey of its surrounding environs (approximately 150 acres) from January to March, 1996 as part of a Legacy Project administered by Fort Stewart Military Reservation, Directorate of Public Works, Environment

During the months of October and November, 1994 New South Associates conducted a 16 mile survey of U.S. Highway 25/SR 121 in Burke and Richmond counties. A total of 12 sites and six isolated finds were located along the Widening Existing alternate.

Close visual inspection guided by copies of various nineteenth and twentieth century maps, coupled with the excavation of a small number of shovel tests allowed an assessment of the archeological potential of the project area.

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Savannah District, is collecting data for the preparation of a cultural resources management plan for Savannah Harbor Navigation Project.
