This report presents the results of a Phase I archaeological survey of 4,219 acres at Lake Thurmond on the Georgia/South Carolina border. The primary goal of the survey was to determine the National Register eligibility of sites within the survey areas.

This report describes the results of archaeological investigations at the Harris (40SY525), Hayes (40SY526), and Fulmer (40SY527) sites. They are located along a section of the proposed State Route (SR) 385 corridor (Paul Barrett Parkway) near the town of Arlington in Shelby County, Tennessee.

Archaeological investigations at site 40WY87 were performed in conjunction with the construction of the State Route 15 (US 64) Bypass around Waynesboro, Tennessee. Preliminary survey work by DuVall and Associates, Inc. in 1994 indicated that site 40WY87 had a significant depth of midden.
