Report Abstracts

A Phase 1 cultural resources survey of the proposed Settles Bridge Development Site in Gwinnett County, Georgia was conducted to locate and identify cultural resources within the project area and assess resource significance.

Site 9Wi(DOT)5 consists of a low density prehistoric lithic and ceramic scatter and an historic cemetery. The site is located south of Cedar Creek and just west of SR 11/US 129 at the intersection of SR 223 and SR 11/US 129 adjacent to the Cedar Creek Baptist Church.

"This transportation project has been surveyed for historic resources in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto.

The proposed project consists of grading, drainage, base and surfacing of CR 115 in Wilcox County. The project would begin approximately 600 feet south of CR 128 and end at SR 233. Construction limits would be 30 feet left and right of centerline.

The proposed project would consist of the paving of the existing shoulders on CR 254/Amoco Road in Wilcox County. The project would begin at the intersection of SR 215 and end at the intersection of CR 21. No additional right-of-way would be required for the completion of this project.

STP-BRF-30-2(42) would replace the existing bridge over the Alapaha River tributary located on US 280/SR 30 in Wilcox County. The bridge is approximately 1.30 miles east of Seville, Georgia.

STP-BRF-30-2(41) would replace the existing bridge over the Alapaha River tributary located on US 280/SR 30 in Wilcox County. The bridge is located 0.80 mile east of Seville, Georgia. The total length for the project is 3300 feet. The existing right-of-way is 100 feet.

Panamerican Consultants, Inc., archaeologically tested a portion of 9Ce46, the Mobley Strip site, in the northeastern part of Ft. Benning in Chattahoochee County, Georgia.

The National Park Service Southeastern Archaeological Center at Tallahassee, Florida, working with a request by the Corps of Engineers at Mobile, Alabama, contracted with the Department of Anthropology of Florida State University, Tallahassee, to make a survey of the Archaeological resources of
