In response to your request, an archaeological survey of the proposed "New Family and Group Shelter" development area at Sweetwater Creek State Park (Douglas County, Georgia) was carried out on May 20, l983.

On February 20th, 1995, Dave Davis of this office conducted a Phase I archaeological survey of an area slated for the proposed construction of a roadway, parking lot and walkways at Camp Rutledge in Hard Labor Creek State Park, Morgan County, Georgia (see attached map).

The following report summarizes a cultural resource survey of proposed U.S. Forest Service Road Number 1274, scheduled for construction during 1977. The road is located in compartment 191 (27) of the Oconee National Forest, west of County Road Number 42, Cold Springs Road.

The following report describes a cultural resource survey of proposed U.S. Forest Service Road Number 1211, scheduled for construction during 1977. The proposed road is located in compartment 195 (31) of the Oconee National Forest.

As a part of the cultural resource assessment for the Environmental Impact Statements for these projects, an archaeological survey was performed. The projects run along existing alignment with additional purchase of right-of-way to provide for four-laning.

East of the town limit of Washington, Georgia, Joel Abbot, a physician from Ridgefield, Connecticut, was constructing a home in 1797. According to his deed to twelve acres purchased from Micajah and Mary Williamson for sixty dollars, Dr. Abbot was "abuilding" (Thomas 1974:45, 56).
